When it comes to communication, there’s much to be said for brevity. These days, attention spans are so stunted that people soon lose interest if you don’t get to the point. Whether telling a joke, engaging in polite conversation or relaying an anecdote, it is increasingly important to keep things short.
With this in mind, I’ve set myself a challenge. Each day, I intend to summarise the ongoing story of my life in no more than 100 words.
This may sound mind-bendingly difficult, but since the story of my life is painfully dull, I shouldn’t encounter too many problems …

Hmm. You might be interested in A London Heart, which has been going since 2004 and “will eventually comprise 100 short stories of 100 words, all inspired by or tangentially related to London”. It’s a lot of fun.

Hello, I found your blog at modobs. I admire your leanings towards brevity. I myself have only started writing flash fiction but can’t tell a story in less than 300 words. Maybe one day I’ll be as dedicated and as disciplend as you.
